Virtual iNaturalist Training available by appointment

Joe MDO, an experienced iNaturalist user, is available to provide training/answer questions most weekdays from 2:30PM-8:00PM. You can get in touch with him to plan a Zoom meeting at joemdo.inaturalist@gmail.com with your availability. He is happy to meet with organizations, teachers, groups, or one-on-one.

Snyder Park Nature Walk

Come explore the nature of Snyder Park, in the city of Fort Lauderdale. As part of the City Nature Challenge 2023, we will be hosting a nature walk throughout the park. Our goal will be to find some cool organisms such as insects, butterflies, dragonflies, plants, and some birds to photograph. We will learn about a FREE digital app called iNaturalist that provides resources to learn about nature in your backyard and also helps scientists better understand how biodiversity is doing. People of all ages are welcome to join for a leisurly stroll through the park. If possible, please download the FREE iNaturalist app on your smartphone or tablet before coming.

MUVE BioBlitz at Virginia Key  - sponsored by Brightmark

This event is closed to the public. At this BioBlitz, MUVE will partner with Upward Bound Math and Science students to observe and document the urban wildlife at Virginia Key North Point. We will split into small groups to walk coastal hammock trails, wade in shallow nearshore habitat, and explore
the beach dunes. Please download the free iNaturalist app onto your smartphone or tablet prior to the event. Dress code: sun and bug protection, and shoes you don't mind getting wet. Contact muve@frostscience.org

Secret Woods Nature Center BioBlitz

Secret Woods Nature Center is excited to host a FREE nature walk at Secret Woods as part of the 2023 City Nature Challenge. Bring your family and friends to come out and learn about the nature in our cities. We will go for a walk to find plants, insects, birds, and mammals along the trails at the Secret Woods Nature Center. Our goal will be to try and observe and photograph as many species as possible. Along the way we'll talk about iNaturalist and the City Nature Challenge, including the ability to document nature using your smartphone and how scientists use this information to preserve our backyard nature. Bring water, walking shoes, and if you have a digital camera, bring that along as well! Look forward to seeing you on th
