Joe MDO, an experienced iNaturalist user, is available to provide training/answer questions most weekdays from 2:30PM-8:00PM. You can get in touch with him to plan a Zoom meeting at joemdo.inaturalist@gmail.com with your availability. He is happy to meet with organizations, groups or one-on-one.

Miami EcoAdventures' Sunrise Clear Kayak Adventure

Crandon Park, Miami-Dade

Join Miami EcoAdventures as we kick off City Nature Challenge with a sunrise paddle into Bear Cut Preserve! From the seat of a clear bottom kayak, join our naturalists as we travel along Crandon Park's shoreline and identify the host of marine life beneath you! Glide over seagrass beds, sand flats, an ancient fossilized reef and into the serene mangrove forest of Bear Cut Preserve, where a number of shorebird species roost and forage. Program cost: $45 per participant. All equipment provided. This program is for ages 9 and up.

CNC BioBlitz Guided Nature Walk with Miami EcoAdventures

Join us for a free guided tour of the diverse grounds of Arch Creek Park. Experience Old Florida as you venture into our Tropical Hardwood Hammock and learn about some of the plants and animals found within. Birds & Bats & Biodiversity: A BioBlitz Exploration in Everglades National Park

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Participate in the City Nature Challenge alongside park rangers and biologists to document the biodiversity at Royal Palm as day turns to night. Join rangers for a 45-minute guided walk along the Anhinga Trail to discuss the ecosystem and document species of plants and animals encountered along the way. Then, return to the Royal Palm area to follow along as a park biologist uses a bat detector to investigate what species of bats might be present in the area. As part of the City Nature Challenge, participants are encouraged to create an account on iNaturalist and document species encountered throughout the program. Bring a flashlight, insect repellant, water bottle, and wear lightweight long clothing. Red lights are encouraged.
